GHS BLOOD DRIVE INFO - Sept 21-22 2016
We have only around 10 appointments signed up at this point. THE DRIVE IS AT RISK OF BEING CANCELLED!!!!
Yes- Even if you go to another school you can still sign up, just need to do it as early as you can so you do not miss too much of our class! 

17-18 year olds can sign up at redcrossblood.org OR on the Red Cross Blood Drive APP(donors can track their units, earn rewards and learn their blood type with the app)

16 year olds really must submit a permission slip to Mrs. Miller in S-2 for an appointment. The Red Cross system will not let them have an appointment online.

If you are new and may not be aware GHS is very serious about our blood drives.  We hold a few records in the Bay Area and we have received multiple monetary awards in the last few years for our superior efforts in blood donations for the American Red Cross! Our goal is to collect 300 units per year!


REMINDERS
  • You should be DONE interviewing someone and should be writing. Do not forget the project is due September 23rd! - THIS FRIDAY
  • GHS MED OCCS AM/PM - It is time to get your "SCRUBS ON"!
  • Make sure to schedule your MEET YOUR CAREER COUNSELOR! Assignment is due OCTOBER 21ST.
  • Keep a MONTHLY log of news stories that raise ethical questions. (Specifically medical). You should have at least 4 different articles that raise ethical questions. - Due October 4th, 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS
  • THIS THURSDAY!!!!                                                                                                     Are you a female interested in participating in GetSet?  *You will need to attend a mandatory Orientation for both parents and students at Dublin High School - Thursday, September 22nd from 6:30-8:30, Performing Arts Center
  • Please add the Tri-valley College & Career Fair October 12th from 6:30-8:30.  You will be required to attend so if you work start asking for this date off! NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Saturday, October 8th - UC Davis Pre- Health Conference - More info to follow, but I am encouraging all of our students to go for the weekend!

HOMEWORK

  • Sit down with a parent or guardian tonight and READ THIS article together and then have a conversation about it. Minimum 15 minutes spent together reading and discussing.  Print off this blog sheet and have parent initial here __________________________ for verification!
  • Watch THIS video and begin thinking about your habits and how your small everyday habits define you. Come to class tomorrow ready to share two good habits that you may or may not even think about doing each day and two habits you would like to change.
  • Anyone not present your disease today? Make sure you are ready to go first thing tomorrow!
